Paste in Place was a student exhibition for our Graphic Design 1: Typography class. The class was divided into teams of three. Each of the six groups had to design an impermanent installation throughout a section of the Merlin D. Bishop Center. Installations focused using the space to exemplify frame, grid, perspective, and angle. In addition to the 6 installation groups, the class was also divided into collaborative exhibition groups. I was a part of the group that designed the Pamphlet.
Below are photographs of my group's typographic installation. The installation focused on perspective as we used "Labels" or labeling a space as well as objects around it from both an interior and exterior view. We used the main window pane above the entrance to Bishop to show its transparent and reflective qualities that is normally unnoticed. It was interesting to view the installation because in order to see it clearly, you had to step in the right place at the right time. "Perhaps the existence of labelling the natural world and juxtaposing interior vs. exterior space could serve as commentary to how attached or detached we seem from our surrounding environments."
